Marriage

Six

February 10, 2014

Six months ago, I vowed with a smile and a kiss to never wander this beautiful Earth alone, and promised, for the rest of my life, to ensure the happiness of the one person who made it possible.

Yup, six months ago, we got married — and my life completely changed.

Although I am still trying to figure out who I am, and what exactly I want to “be when I grow up,” or where I have a legitimate place in the world — for the first time, even if I don’t know anything else — I know in my soul that I truly belong somewhere, and that is in this little family we created.

Honestly, I send out a little thanks to the universe everyday, because of all people I could be conscious as (a teenage girl unprepared for a statistics final, an adult male at a piñata party with children swinging steel bats below waist-level at everything BUT the piñata,  or a bird flying dangerously low above an airport runway) —  I am conscious as me, a woman that lives in Washington State, and who is married to Alex Fort.

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU, universe.  Trust me, I know I couldn’t get any luckier.

Here’s to another six months of wandering, date nights, door-hexing competitions, fun, laughter, and propping each other up.

CRY TO MOMMY, PEYTON

6months^^ Happy 6 month mensiversary, Alex. Let’s celebrate today and always.^^

While our January saw a few adventures, we spent much of it trying to not irritate my broken wrist. Sans cast for the first full week in many, we have been getting back to our usual activity level, and we’re  looking forward to ramp it up. Meanwhile, next Wednesday is my 27th birthday, which I’m not all that excited about (non-milestone birthdays are NBD to me), but we are going to celebrate with dinner and birthday cake. Or maybe just ice cream — I like that more. 😉 The next weekend we will be on a snowshoeing excursion that we’ve been looking forward to since our visit to NY and Saturday’s impromptu storm had us craving more snow time.

^^ Snow in Seattle. It’s such a big deal that we all out outside at 12 AM to play in it.^^

After that, February is pretty much over (it’s seriously FLYING by), and as for the rest of our plans — they have yet to be determined. For a person that is a hardcore planner, I’ve got to say, I’m starting to really like it this way 😉

See you in March!
